| | President’s
Message Overview: As mentioned in the Spring 2007
Newsletter the
population of Lago Vista and surrounding areas continues to expand, so
also are
the challenges facing the LVPOA.
With an ever-increasing
number of housing developments coming to our community, some of these
developments have already been annexed into Lago Vista’s city limits.
Others
are likely to follow in the future. I’d
like to reassure
our entire membership, any new development that is annexed into city
limits
does not, in itself, entitle these new residents to use parks or
facilities
owned by the LVPOA.
In order to address some of
these complex issues your Board of Directors have now completed and
approved a
new set of LVPOA Bylaws outlining membership levels and entitlements
including:
(a) Association Property Owner, (b) Tenant Member, (c) Associate
Member, (d)
Social Club Member, and, (e) Guest.
In
addition to new Bylaws, the Board of Directors
have also defined and put in place a new set of LVPOA Policies. These
include
(i) Membership Buy-In, whereby any new development wishing to be
considered for
membership into the Association would be required to satisfy a set of
Terms
& Conditions including a “Buy-In Fee” which has initially been
established
at $2000.00 per lot/unit. (Note:
payment of a
“Membership Buy-in Fee” will not automatically entitle a development to
join
the LVPOA. Each case will be individually evaluated by the Board of Directors
before a decision is made whether or not to
allow the development in to the Association),
(ii) A Social
Club
Membership, whereby an individual or a couple who are not members of
the
Association, but are regular members of a registered club which uses
Association facilities (not including the Fitness Center or any Parks)
would be
required to pay an annual fee to the LVPOA of $15.00 per single or
$25.00 per
couple living in the same household, (iii) Associate Member, it has
been
decided this level of membership will not be offered
after October 31st. 2007, however
the Association will honor existing Associate Memberships until such
time as
the current owners sell or leave their property, these rights will not
be
transferable, and (iv) Guest policy.
